NU’s Asian Lens Ethnic Day



NU celebrated Asian Lens Ethnic Day on July 30, 2014. All At NU with tons of pleasure felt pride embracing Asian culture and traditions by being in Ethnic costumes. The Event was organized by Dr. Anuradha Parasar under the auspices of Asian Lens Forum. The Ethnic Costumes of India, China and Japan were represented.  The students participants of NU’s Asian Lens Ethnic Day who represented Indian culture or a region or a state through their costumes were Rajat in Pathan Suit, Priyanka in Half Saree, Praveen in South Indian Costumes, Shivam in Punjabi Patiala, Apoorva in Lancha, Sourya in Sherwani, Jeel in Anarkali dress and Aakriti in Bengali Saree. The Staff Participants of NU’s Asian Lens Ethnic Day representing Indian Costumes were Naveen Parasar in Kurta Payjma, Dr. Anuradha Parasar in Rajasthani Lehanga, Meenu Sharma in Gujarati Saree and Vipin Kumar in Kurta Payjama. All the participants in few lines talked about the uniqueness of their costume along with explaining the history and importance related to their dress in their native language representing particular state. 

The Chinese costume was represented by Usha Banerjei and Japanese Costume was represented by Member from NU’s Japanese Forum.

All At NU was stunned appreciating the diversity of Asian Ethnic Costumes and saluted all the participant of NU’s Asian Lens Ethnic Day who contributed by representing very gracefully and successfully with great honor the region or the culture or the State through their costume.

The enthusiastic participation and contributions of the participants from audience was also acknowledge in making the event colourful by being in Ethnic Costumes.  

It was indeed a great pride moment for all who witnessed not only the scene of a miniature India at NU but also the representation of Chinese and Japanese Costumes under Asian Lens Forum. All AT NU was rejoiced with ethnic celebration and enjoyed with pleasure, the pride feeling and the honor being Indian, being Asian, being part of such a diversified Nation / Continent which is known for its rich cultural diversity and heritage and somewhere deep down in their heart there was the revitalization of feeling about embracing Ethnicity and pride about Ethnic costumes

The participants of the Ethnic day made the event remarkable, memorable and successful by their unique contributions and participations exchanging with each other Happy Ethnic Day greetings.
