March
08, 2013 is the foundation date of NU’s Asian Lens Initiatives as on this date
for the first time the idea on Asian Lens was discussed with NUites. NIIT
University started its Asian Lens Initiatives under the dynamic Leadership of
Harpal Singh, Board Member NIIT University & Mentor &
Chairman Emeritus, Fortis Healthcare Ltd along with Padma Bhushan Recipient Rajendra S Pawar who
is founder of NIIT University & Chairman, NIIT Ltd. with the vision to be the leading center to introduce and
increase awareness about the concept of Asian Lens
and to sensitize and create pride in Asian heritage, culture, history , values
and to present it with a contemporary perspective.
Under NU’s
Asian Lens Initiatives that time we identified two areas to begin with:
•
Developing
Asian Lens
•
Asian Lens
Outreach Program
Under the first area i.e. developing an Asian Lens - an ongoing attempt is in progress to go to the grassroot level of
Asia’s rich cultural heritage, achievements, contributions and through NU’s Asian Lens Forum we had been generating
discussions about the great personalities, great contributions and achievements
of the land and also tried to discuss, analyse and interpret the same in
contemporary context.
As of now we succeeded to an extent in increasing awareness
about Asian Culture with emphasis on Indian Culture as well as Japanese Culture
as we have representation of these two cultures in the forum.
Under Second area i.e. Asian Lens Outreach programme
we have been inviting Non - Indian and Indian Communities to become part of NU’s
Asian Lens Initiatives. Good number of
Academicians, Writers, Corporate Leaders, Senior Government
Officials along with NU’s Parents, Faculty and Staff members participated in various activities and events as organized
under Asian Lens Initiatives. Majorly all Japanese Company in Neemrana has
representation on NU’s Asian Lens Japanese Forum which was formally launched on
Oct 15, 2013. Though this forum even Members from Japanese Community are also
getting opportunity to share about Japanese culture and traditions.

since March 8, 2014 by Dr. Anuradha Parasar as Organizing

A lot has been
done in last one year to develop Asian Lens focusing Indian Society and to some
extent to understand Japanese Society. In Year 2013 we could figure out the
course of our movement and we have taken few small successful steps as
well. However it’s a long way to go. Inputs,
contributions, participations and support is requested from all to take NU’s Asian
Lens Initiatives to the next course of journey.
So it is high
time to join hands to think together how to re-invent and re-discover Asia by
joining NIIT University’s Asian Lens Initiatives.
