15, 2013 was quiet an auspicious day for the NUites and also for the members of
NU’s Asia Lens Initiatives Team as it was the grand occasion to formally launch
the NU’s Japanese Forum under NIIT University’s Asia Lens Initiatives. Members
from Japanese Community along with NU Leadership Team, NU Faculty, Staff and
students participated enthusiastically in the event. The occasion was to learn
about Japanese Culture, Traditions and Country. All the guest and NUites who
participated in the event were welcomed by Asia Lens Students Members - E
Abhignya, Nikita Banerji, Ekta Tiwari, Akshita Bhandari, Aakansha Kapoor,
Hiresha Kewalramani, Sushmita Singh by applying ‘Tilak’ and by tying a traditional
threads. The entire event was photographed by Asia Lens Student Members – Amit,
Aliestier, Shantanu.
The
session started with a welcome note followed by a presentation on Asia Lens
Initiatives undertaken by NIIT University by Dr. Anuradha Parasar, Coordinator
and Organizer of the event. It was informed that idea about Asia Lens was given to NU on March 08, 2013 under the
dynamic leadership of Harpal Singh, Mentor & Chairman Emeritus Fortis
Health Care Limited & Padma Bhusan Rajendra S Pawar, Founder NU & Chairman
and Co- founder NIIT Group. It was reported that the events as organized under
the initiatives included Talk on Indian Society by Dr. Anuradha Parasar (Sept
12, 2013), Visit to Tribal Art Gallery (Sept 21, 2013) and Manthan @ NU – 2013
(Oct. 08, 2013) and Hindi Learning sessions for Japanese community along with
informing the upcoming events.
Prof.
Rajendra Kumar Pandey, President NU gave the opening speech and declared
Japanese Forum open. This moment was cherished by all the participants.
Paul
John Perace, Project Manager, Kazima India Pvt. Ltd. made presentation on Japanese Culture Tradition’s and Country and talked about various
aspects of Japanese culture and traditions including Tea Ceremony, Matsuri,
Religion, Food, Wedding Ceremony, Sapporo Snow Festival etc.
Yoshito
Yoda, Internal Auditor, NISSIN Brake India Pvt. Ltd. made a presentation on Funeral Buddhism and presented a comparative analysis between
Japanese Religion and Indian Religion touching Japanese mind set.
The
presentations were followed by question and answer session and Music Symphony I
by Nikita Mangla on Harmonium and Sreyash R Tripatht on Tabla and Music
Symphony II by Venugopal on Violin and Aliestier on Synthesizer respectively.
The
Quiz questions on Know Our Japan was floated as parallel activity for the
audience. The Quiz question I winners were Ahmad Mustafa (SMCC), Mohd.
Asif Mustafa Kahan (NU), Amit Kumar (SMCC), Arshad khan (TPR), Kazuhiko
Matsunaga (AIPL). The Quiz Question II winners were Amit Kumar (SMCC), Vignesh
S. (Student B. Tech.)., Ahmad Mustafa (SMCC),
Manoj Kumar Ray (SMCC), Naresh Samlora (SMCC). The Quiz session Judges
were Prof. Vidu Soni & Kamla Rawat.
The
event was made further made memorable and remarkable by nomenclating the plant
as Asia Lens Plant which was watered
by NU leadership team in participation with all the members of Japanese forum. It
was informed that Asia Lens Plant will be planted by Asia Lens Founding Members
and Advisors - Harpal Singh and Padma Bhusan Rajendra S Pawar at NU campus on
Nov. 15, 2013.
All
the member of the Japanese Forum were also presented a plant as part of the
memories for participating in the event - Formal Launch of NU’s Asia Lens
Japanese Forum.
The
above event was also graced by the presence of Kazuhiko Matsunaga (AIPL), Shaji
P John (SMCC), Toshiaki Ito (IMASEN) and Kazuo Tsuruoka(TPR).
